Sage Grilled Cheese
Upgrade your classic grilled cheese sandwich with the earthy flavors of fresh sage. This Sage Grilled Cheese is a delightful twist on a comfort food favorite.
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of whole-grain bread
- 2 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 fresh sage leaves
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Lay out the two slices of bread on a clean surface
Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each slice of bread
Sprinkle garlic powder evenly over the cheese slices
Lay two fresh sage leaves on top of each cheese-covered bread slice
Season with a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper
Sandwich the two slices of bread together to create a sage and cheese sandwich
Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat
Melt the butter in the skillet until it sizzles
Carefully place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted
Remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing it in half
