Vegan Mushroom Gravy
This vegan mushroom gravy is thick and tasty, and it goes well with mashed potatoes, biscuits, or any other dish that needs a savory sauce. It's simple to make, takes little time, and is full of umami goodness.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Put olive oil in a pan and heat it over medium-low heat
It will take about 5 minutes of cooking after adding the mushrooms until they start to brown and give off their water
Put some flour on top of the mushrooms and mix them well
Add the vegetable broth slowly while stirring all the time to avoid lumps
Mix in the onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and pepper
Use a stir to mix
Let the gravy simmer for 5 to 7 minutes, or until it gets the thickness you want
If necessary, change the seasoning
Serve hot with biscuits, mashed potatoes, or your favorite foods
